About the Conference
The new challenges posed by the integration of the Maghreb countries in the world economy call for the modernisation of Maghreb industry, so that it can become more competitive. This process of modernisation, based on compliance with international standards and norms, particularly those relating to the environment, will enable Maghreb industrialists to compete more effectively on international markets and find new drivers for development.
Maghreb industrialists, with their commitment to the environment, will be called on to mobilise all their resources to promote green growth by reducing or even eliminating environmental pollution.
The Réseau des Entreprises Maghrébines pour l´Environnement (network of Maghreb enterprises for the environment - REME) is organising a conference on green growth, bringing together the partners of the three member countries, political representatives, scientists and experts from international institutions to lead the debate and dialogue on key issues relating to the environment and sustainable development. What are the main environmental issues and challenges for companies in the Maghreb countries? How much is environmental degradation costing us? What tools and technologies are available to entrepreneurs to improve the eco-efficiency of their products and services? These questions will be analysed and discussed with entrepreneurs, researchers and financial specialists in a professional forum involving top regional and international experts. A number of workshops will also be held, making the conference a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and expertise.
All Maghreb and international enterprises are also invited to a fair for manufacturing and service companies, which is being organised as part of the conference.
